So here is my grid page that I started. A year ago or so I made a “packing tape” image transfer” of a photocopy of a photo of my parents (circa 1952); thrilled to find a home for it in my Moleskine. The lily is the last one to open from the flowers my hubby gave to me. I added some rose petals (from the same bouquet) under the stamp. Now I think I’m going to have issues with try to fit it in with the other images. But time will tell.... I will have to find a creative solution for this problem! The angel is from a royalty free website www dot picrly dot com. It is a beautiful sunny day here so I’m heading outside now!
My creative journey! Playful use of photograpy, multimedia fibre art, drawing and acrylics painting.

Snowy Scene
I watched a demo on Utube this morning on painting a snowy scene hosted by ShopkeepArty with artist Grahame Booth. I didn’t have the reference photo so I just followed along the best I could. I enjoyed my time spent giving this snowy scene a go even though it was not easy.

Etchr mini-workshop
I took a mini-workshop through Etchr with artist Julia Henze today! I wasn’t able to finish in the time allotted (it’s 90 minutes for $8 CAD - cheaper in US $) but that is okay, I’m happy with my results in the time I had.

Sunday Selfie?
I’m taking a class with Lewis Rossignol and for this weeks lesson we were to draw a face using several references and to distill it into a new face. I wimped out and did a “selfie”, sort of.....it could be me, back in the day, before I had to wear glasses. I hate my hat, it’s the one I throw on to feed the birds! The red marks in my cheek and elsewhere were in the page before I started along with the stitching on the far left (on the previous page from lesson one). I found the painted page reinforcements that I did years ago and added them. Not sure why I had painted them but that’s okay, I just thought the spread needed “something” else.

Blue Jay
Well we have finally decided to stop putting seed in the feeders in the hopes of discouraging the stupid turkeys. So I put some seed on the snow on the deck for our little birds. I’ve been watching the blue jays this morning.
It is so gloomy here today but no more snow to speak of, just a few flakes (thank goodness because I’m off to the post office).

Polar Vortex
As many of you are aware, we are experiencing the polar vortex so I did wear my snow shovelling hat and mitts today! I hope to get to the post office tomorrow if we don’t get too much more snow.
Some time ago, I saw this farm on my way home from town and took a photo because it is unusual that the farmer wouldn’t be able to get the whole corn crop off. I had my photo made into a postcard at the print shop and will mail them out tomorrow. I’m loath to add water on this super thin paper. Farmers leave their corn crop on the field late into the season so it will be nice a dry when they do harvest it.
So I think I’ll leave this page dry too!
Snail mail and tea bags
How exciting to get some awesome snail mail!! Thanks ever so much for the tea bags Mary Beth as well as you fun art card! Well done! It is so lovely! I so love your technique! Mary T , l👀k how it’s done! I’m happy that I have friends who are willing to mail me tea bags (and nothing but the tea bag!!)
