Thinking about Italy-again

Our trip to Itsly is all I am thinking about these days! So excited! I made this travel paint box out of a gift card metal tin and Crsyola air dry clay. I so wish that the zinc white tube of gouache would have fit in the tin. Oh well, I have a bunch of my favourite colours in there anyway!

In the lid I added a piece of white plastic from the recycling bin (it had been a Cool Whip lid) and a word map for the paint colours. Lastly I stuck in a piece of paper towel. Hopefully I will actually take it out of my bag and use it.

Through the eyes of a child

This is a watercolour I did at my daughters house. The painting above her side board belonged to my parents. I never liked it so when my dad passed my daughter asked for it. I'm glad she likes it. Yesterday my grand-daughter wanted to sit at a different seat at the table so she could look at this. Seeing the world through the eyes of a child. Stillman &Birn sketchbook.

Art Collaboration

We are in the big city helping to take care of or grand-daughter this week while her daddy is away. My grand-daughter is 3 yeas old, we were painting together; I was painting circles and swirls and she was painting over it. Today I drew the tulips (and some lilies that refused to open) on the dining room table from Easter. My first time using a "pre-painted" back-ground for drawing.
What fun! Cheapie watercolour paper and poster paint background and Uniball and Faber-Castell fat white marker

Vintage Globe

I bought this vintage globe for my daughter many years ago. I had fun drawing it even with the wonky results

A new bird

I have never seen this bird before so I checked on social media to find out its name.

It turns out to be called a "Cooper Hawk"! Luckily my drawing was good enough for identification purposes.

Happy Easter!

It finally has been a great day spent with family!

It didn't start out so well but with a bit of patience we ended up meeting up with family late this afternoon.

This was my view point at the waiting room of the local hospital - the clean linens.  It was hard to draw and I messed up but I'm happy i made the attempt!

My hubby bought our grand-daughter this chocolate Lindt bunny. I got to draw and paint it after she went to bed tonight.

At 3, of course the ears went first

Making a negative a positive

My husband isn't feeling well, a recurring infection is bothering him so we went to emergency at the local hospital. The care he got was fairly quick and painless.

Okay, so this doesn't actually look anything like him but I did it. I made a bunch of mistakes in the sketching of his hands however, I drew something today, I am proud of that fact!
