Leaving our summer holiday spot for home!

This is my sketching from today! No art journaling yet but that is okay, I'm happy with what I have done so far.

We had brunch at a cool and cute 1950's  diner in the village of Springmount, Ontario🇨🇦
Loved the old fashioned tables and chairs and the tunes playing from a very cool Seeburg jute box!!

Here is my page for our fun Sauble Beach holiday for summer 2016.

#46 (ICAD) For this card, I channelled artist Lisa Congdon! I love her art and she has a new book out called The Joy of Swimming that has her awesome drawings in it. Check her out! For this abstract I used gouache, Cray-pas oil pastels, fluid watercolour (leftover paint from my project yesterday), and gel pens. Not really my thing but it was fun to do.

Sktchy app challenge

I love the Sktchyapp and they have drawing challenges on IG in case you don't have an iPhone. I thought I would give Daniela a go too! This was lots of fun even though I drew and painted her on an index card, there was some limitations with the paper! Head on over to Sktchy to see the original photo. Want to give this beautiful photo a go???!  If you use the app there are more than just portraits; there is a wide variety of photographs, from animals to architecture and so on....

Laundromat

This is what I did after my 6km walk this afternoon. Okay, so I just had to draw and paint these dryers. I know that some of you will think I am silly but going to the laundromat is a big deal for me! I haven't been for many years but we haven't had much rain this summer so I thought it prudent to do my laundry in town. I was so surprised that the everything was so clean and it didn't take me long at all. The last time it was total drudgery but I was able to pass the time in such drawing so the time flew by.

My Summer Hat

I finally had the guts after Vin Ganapathy's class to test drive a Tombow N15 watercolour marker.  So, I took a "selfie" and gave it a go! Not sure who this woman is but I think she has a pleasant enough face! Just so you know, I hate hats!!!! I hated wearing them as a kid to church and I still hate them. However, life is what it is and I have to wear them.  This one was purchased at a haberdashery - okay, a hat store!!! Yes! Imagine, a store that only sells hats!!!  I bought it with my hubby when we were in the big city last year- Goorin Brothers, on Queen St E Toronto, Ontario. It really is a nice hat  even though I'm not a fan!

I have to say Tombow markers are really interesting to work with and I enjoyed spending time with them!!
