We went to Orillia today; s small city just north of where we live- to check out their rib fest.

We had a few glasses of local craft brewed beer and watched the band. (The Grapes).  I drew and painted this while I sipped. Then we picked up our chicken and ribs (I don't eat ribs) and headed home.

Yum!

Urban sketching can be rural Sketching - Silent Lake Provincial Park

AI've got nothing for urban sketching so I'm doing rural sketching instead!  Roughing it with no running water for a few days with the family.  Our lovely cabin on the hill!
The inset in the upper right is the photo.  Pen and watercolour in my Moleskine.

The inside of our lovely cabin in the woods - Black Bear Den.

What a Day for a Day Dream or Clouds!!

Thanks ever so much for your inspirational photo Suzan Not much of a likeness but I hummed this Lovin' Spoonful tune while I drew this.  I started with a new pen with Higgins Black Magic ink but I don't really like it after using the wonderful #Pentel pocket brush pen.  It has s solid brush type nib that is nothing like the Pentel. I pulled out an old water brush that I had added some ink to the barrel and then some #Tombows in my #Moleskine #WIP I just feel it still needs something.  With a huge thanks to Roz for her wonderful Textures class for the previously prepared background.

Thanks ever so much Jenell for this reference photo,  it inspired me to make this full page spread in my sketchbook. I had fun creating this!  Kind of like organised chaos. #Monoprinted background and excess paint smeared off brayer.  #pentel pocket brush pen for drawing and #gouache paint Washi tape and foil stars added. Letters stamped and jazzed up with gel pens

Thanks ever so much Louise for your awesome reference.  I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to do with this busy mono-printed background and then I found your photo! I threw a lot on this one! I had thought I would keep it simple but clearly I am unable to do that!! Regardless, I had oodles of fun trying to work with the gelli-printed background.  I had some old handmade eraser stamps so I used them too.  Purchased letter stamps because I have lousy creative lettering! #monoprint #gouache

don't eat shellfish so I draw and paint while my hubby does!
