Off prompt- I drove to town today and went to see the Franklin Carmichael watercolour that they have at the Orillia Public Library in their local history room. The historian on duty took the painting off the wall for me so I could spend some time looking at it.   What really struck me was how he was able to make use of the white of the paper. It looked like he used a charcoal pencil for the drawing.  The title is just the place - La Cloche Mountain (range), Lake Huron near Manitoulin Island,  Northern Ontario

Clearly my version does not depict the absolute beauty of this master painter.  I had a good time giving it a go though!!
